Lisa Scottoline was born July 1, 1955 in Philadelphia, PA.

She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English.  She attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School and graduated cum laude in 1981.

Her books have been translated into 25 languages and have made the New York Times Best Seller List.

She writes a column for the Philadelphia Inquirer entitled "Chick Wit".
